Finanical Aid Overview
What is Financial Aid?
Financial Aid, consisting of Federal loans, Federal Pell Grants, and State Grants, is available to those who qualify. Students must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine eligibility of Financial Aid in the form of loans and grants. Students or applicants with questions regarding Financial Aid or Self-Payment arrangements should contact the Financial Aid Office at 781.935. 3344 ext. 227 or 781.935.3344 ext. 254 to arrange a meeting.
FAFSA
In order to receive aid, a student must have a financial need (as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may do so directly online at www.studentaid.gov. Our Federal School Code is 015768. Once submitted, your FAFSA should be received by the school in 5-7 business days.

Veteran’s Administration Benefit Recipients (VA)
The Catherine Hinds Institute is approved through the VA to offer training. Students receiving VA benefits under Title 38 are required to maintain 80% or better attendance. A Certificate of Completion will be granted only when the student physically, through attendance and makeup hours, completes the total hours of the program. The veteran will not be charged for makeup time. If the veteran’s attendance falls below 80%, or if satisfactory academic progress is not being maintained, the school will immediately interrupt or terminate the veteran’s educational benefits by written notification to the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
Public Law 115-407, Sections 103 and 104
In accordance with the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018, section 3679(e) of title 38 (Public Law 115-407), a student who is entitled to educational assistance under Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment, or Chapter 33, Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits shall be permitted to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a Certificate of Eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under Chapter 31 or 33 (a “Certificate of Eligibility” can also include a “Statement of Benefits” obtained from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ website – eBenefits, or a VAF 28-1905 form for Chapter 31) and ending on the earlier of the following dates:
- The date on which payment from VA is made to the institution.
- 90 days after the date the institution certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the Certificate of Eligibility.
The Institute shall not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or require the student to borrow additional funds, in order to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under Chapter 31 or 33.

Does the Financial Aid Office need things other than my FAFSA?
The financial aid office may ask for additional documentation such as proof of citizenship or permanent residency, high school completion status, identification or other forms. Stay in touch with the Financial Aid Office and be sure to check your email regularly to ensure we have everything we need.
How much can I get?
Each program and student’s eligibility will determine their financial need.
